The Western Canada Career Development Conference 2026 is a gathering designed to meet career development professionals where they are and support them as the landscape around work learning and employment continues to shift.

This conference brings together thoughtful practice current research and lived experience from across career development community and beyond. It is a space to pause reflect and reconnect with purpose while gaining practical insight that can be applied immediately in your work.

The conference is built around three connected parts

Day 1 – The Learning Lab | April 23, 2026
A new and intimate pilot experience limited to 50 participants. The Learning Lab offers deeper facilitated learning reflection and dialogue. It is designed to prepare participants for the Symposium by creating space to slow down think critically and engage more meaningfully with emerging themes and challenges in the field.

Day 2 – The Symposium | April 24, 2026
The heart of the conference. The Symposium brings together a broad community of practitioners leaders and partners for a full day of keynotes panels and conversations. Join in person at SFU Harbour Centre or online to explore big ideas share perspectives and strengthen professional connections.

Webinar Collection | May 5 - May 28 2026
Following the live events the conference continues through a curated webinar collection. These sessions extend the learning deepen key topics and allow participants to engage on their own schedule long after the in person gathering has concluded.

Participants can choose to attend a single event or take advantage of a bundled conference experience that includes the Learning Lab the Symposium and full access to the Webinar Collection and recordings.

Together these elements create a conference experience that is intentional flexible and grounded in community designed not just as an event but as a shared learning journey.

The Western Canada Career Development Conference is organized by the Western Canada Career Development Association a member driven professional association committed to strengthening the career development field. 

The Association brings together practitioners educators leaders and partners who care deeply about ethical practice lifelong learning and building a strong connected professional community. 

Beyond hosting the conference the Association offers year round learning opportunities meaningful peer connection advocacy for the profession and access to national certification pathways.
